Political Section

The Consulate General maintains political relations with the provinces of Ontario and Manitoba and reports to the embassy in Ottawa and to Berlin.

Consular and Legal Section

The Consulate General's Consular Section performs a wide range of consular and legal services, such as issuing German passports and visas to Germany, and providing assistance for German tourists.

The office of the Honorary Consul in Winnipeg offers many of these services for residents in Manitoba.

The Economics Section

In close cooperation with the Canadian German Chamber of Commerce in Toronto the Economics Section promotes economic relations between Germany, Ontario, and Manitoba. German Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Toronto.

The Cultural and Press Section

Foreign cultural policy is considered the third pillar of German foreign policy, along with classical diplomacy and the promotion of the export industry. Together with the Goethe-Institut in Toronto, the cultural section of the Consulate General supports and organizes German cultural projects and promotes German as a foreign language.

The Press Section is part of the Cultural Section; it maintains the Consulate General´s media contacts and provides information on Germany.

Please be advised that we are obliged by government regulations to enforce some security measures in order to provide a safe environment for our visitors and staff.

The Consulate's security staff operates a baggage search scheme. To avoid delays please refrain from bringing any baggage, briefcases, laptops etc. with you. Mobile phones and any other electronic equipment must be switched off before entry and remain so during your stay. Photography on the premises is strictly forbidden.

Please be advised that the consumption of food and beverages is not allowed in the Consulate's waiting area.
