Introduction of new Honorary Consul Dr. Oelck
Enlarge image Left to right: Dr. Michael Oelck, Josef Beck, Charlie Clark, Jason Quilliam (© Saskatchewan German Council 2017) The German Consul General to western Canada, Josef Beck, introduced at a reception in Saskatoon on March 8 the new Honorary Consul of Germany to Saskatchewan Dr. Michael Oelck. Mr. Oelck will have his office running at the beginning of June. Present was also his worship Charlie Clark Mayor of Saskatoon and Chief of Protocol Jason Quilian representing the Provincial Government of Saskatchewan. Also participating was the President & CEO of K+S Dr. Lamp representing with the Legacy project the biggest German single investment in Canada.
Consul General Josef Beck further on had a meeting with the President Josephin Dick and leading members of the Saskatchewan German Council, an umbrella organization of 37 German and German-speaking clubs in Saskatchewan. Besides promoting the heritage, culture and interests of Saskatchewan residents of German-speaking background the Council also plays an active role in building provincial multiculturalism and the Canadian mosaic.
