Professor Prömel and Professor Kruecken sign the MoU while the German Consul General Josef Beck is onlooking Enlarge image Professor Prömel and Professor Kruecken sign the MoU while the German Consul General Josef Beck is onlooking (© German Consulate General Vancouver) On November 16, 2016 in Vancouver a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the German Technical University Darmstadt and Canada’s National Laboratory for Particle and Nuclear Physics TRIUMF. It is the starting point for an exchange of students, engineers and scientists working in the fields of Nuclear Physics, Material Science, Electrical Engineering and Life Sciences.

Cooperation between TU Darmstadt and TRIUMF Enlarge image (© German Consulate General Vancouver) The MoU was signed by Professor Jürgen Prömel, President of the TU Darmstadt and present President of UT9 (Association of the 9 leading German Technical Universities), and by the Deputy Director of TRIUMF Professor Reiner Kruecken. German Research Institutions like Max-Planck, Helmholtz, DESY Hamburg and German Universities (Karlsruhe, München, Dresden, Köln, Münster, and Giessen) are important international partners for TRIUMF.

This new cooperation is another building block in an ever intensifying scientific and technological cooperation between Germany and Canada as a centerpiece of our bilateral cooperation.
