Comedy drama directed by Maren Ade, with Sandra Hüller, Peter Simonischek and Michael Wittenborn. Nominated for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year at the 2017 Oscars. Winner of the FIPRESCI Prize at the Cannes Film Festival 2016. This German movie opens in theaters on Friday, February 17, 2017.

Virtual Synagogues in Germany.

The Synagogues in Germany exhibition was initiated by students of the Darmstadt University of Technology. After the 1994 arson attack on the synagogue in Lübeck they studied the 19th and 20th century architecture of the synagogue. They intended not to build a monument to human suffering and cultural loss, but to counteract oblivion with an active knowledge of what had been lost.

It's Christmas, the time of peace and family gatherings. Not so for four teenage girls and boys, Lara, Alexandra, Timo and Fedja, nor for Dr. Wolf, whose charges they are in an adolescent psychiatric treatment center. It transpires during the therapy sessions, painful for everyone concerned, that the conflicts which the youngsters face are rooted in their respective family histories. The Christmas celebrations at the center contain happy and unhappy surprises - yet, in spite of a bitter failure, there is hope.
