Since July 2015, the Consulate General in Toronto is the only German mission in Canada to offer comprehensive consular services.

The Consulate General in Vancouver continues to offer most consular services.

The Embassy in Ottawa and the Consulate General in Montreal have ceased to offer consular services altogether.

“Konsularsprechtage” at the German Consulate General in Montreal

The next consular week will take place from May 13, 2024 until May 17, 2024. The services are only available for persons residing in the province of Québec.

Passport applications are being taken if one of the following constellation applies:

- Applicants whose passport will expire within the next 6 months from the date of booking or whose passport has not expired for more than 5 years
- Applicants who are in imminent need for a new passport in order to renew a residence/ work/ study permit
- Applicants who wish to apply for a first-time passport for a minor child
- Applicants who received a certificate of German nationality or a certificate of naturalization and wish to apply for their first passport

In the field of other consular matters, the following services can be booked:

• Birth registrations
• Name declarations
• Authorizations of signature
• Applications for naturalization under condition that personal attendance is required

If a notarization is required in combination with a birth registration, we will let you know after our pre-check of your documents. Hence it is important that you book two consecutive time slots for these matters.

Appointments need to be booked through the booking system of the Consulate General in Toronto. To book an appointment
